Nonstop flights to the D.C. region begin in June 2023

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Tuesday that Norse Atlantic Airways will commence new, low-price, nonstop service between London’s Gatwick International Airport (LGW) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 1, 2023. “Norse Atlantic’s low-price, high-quality offering is a great option for travelers who want to enjoy world-class attractions on a budget,” said Paul Bobson, Airports Authority vice president of Airline Business Development. “The addition of Norse at Dulles, combined with Metro Silver Line train service, will create an affordable nonstop link between the capital cities of the United States and the United Kingdom.”

“This marks an important moment for consumers as we celebrate the launch of ticket sales between Washington Dulles and London Gatwick,” said Norse Atlantic Airways founder and CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen. “The addition of direct flights to Washington, D.C., from the UK will provide greater choice and value for consumers. I am very pleased that we are fulfilling our pledge to allow more people to travel further and stimulate demand while creating competition in the trans-Atlantic market that will ultimately benefit consumers and lead to job creation on both sides of the Atlantic. We know that both leisure and business travelers have been eagerly awaiting our full summer schedule announcement, and we are looking forward to a busy summer ahead.”

Norse Atlantic is the only airline to offer low-price nonstop service between London and Washington. Fares are expected to make travel on Washington’s busiest international market easier, making it possible for more people to travel between the two cities. The new service will also represent the first time Washington Dulles will be connected to London Gatwick airport.

Norse Atlantic Airways’ new route to Washington, D.C., will become the fifth U.S. gateway for the Norwegian carrier. Flights can be purchased now by visiting https://www.flynorse.com/en-US.
