Dulles International Airport joined forces with Air France, HMS Host and Marketplace Development December 11, to host Passport to #Dulles2020, an event that introduced online influencers to what’s coming to the airport in 2020.

The energetic group of social media stars and aviation enthusiasts (#AvGeeks) received a special commemorative passport and boarding pass that granted access to what was in store for the day. To kick it off, Chophouse BreweryCarrabba'sWolfgang Puck's Chef's Table and Burgundy and Gold Club provided a breakfast food tasting and demonstration by two chefs from Chef's Table.

After snacking on tasty treats from the restaurants, they were welcomed by the airport's Vice President of Marketing and Consumer Strategy, Chryssa Westerlund. The group settled in and boarded an updated Dulles Mobile Lounge for a private airfield tour and an update on new airlines and routes at Dulles from Air Service Program Manager, Thomas Reich, including new non-stop flights on Iberia Airlines and Swiss Air launching in 2020. While out in the airfield, the group had the opportunity to spot the mighty A380 as Emirates Airlines taxied out to begin their journey to Dubai.

Arriving at Concourse B, Deven Judd, the Director of Customer and Concessions Development introduced the group to Better Brands stores such as Polo and Montblanc and showcased the new Winter Park installation. The installation is part of a rotating set of decor that changes with the season. The area is set up with tables and chairs and a large winter wonderland centerpiece.

Guests were then guided to Air France's newly renovated Lounge. From champagne to tasty caprese sandwiches and delicious sweets, Air France rolled out the red carpet for a first-class lunch experience.

Our final stop on the tour was the new Sleepbox Lounge, located in Concourse A above the AeroTrain station, to view the unique sleep pods that offer passengers a quiet area to sleep or rest between flights.

As a parting gift, guests received Dulles branded Tervis cups, international chargers, blankets and a free hour stay at Sleepbox Lounge. One lucky influencer also won a grand prize drawing for a Redskins gift basket. The event was again, a day to remember.
