Iberia Arrives at Dulles International with New Flights to Madrid

Service begins May 2020 with four flights per week, expands to five flights in July


Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) announced Wednesday that Iberia Airlines will begin nonstop service between Madrid’s Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) and Dulles International from May 1, 2020 with four flights per week, expanding to five flights a week from July 6, 2020. Passengers on this new route will travel nonstop aboard Airbus A330 aircraft.
“Iberia is the 14th European carrier to join the Dulles International family, continuing the airport’s legacy of offering unparalleled connectivity from the National Capital Region to Europe and beyond,” said Yil Surehan, vice president of Airline Business Development for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Wednesday’s announcement is the latest airline to announce new service in 2019 and 2020 from Dulles International, which saw passenger activity increase by more than 5 percent last year. With its new nonstop service to Madrid, Iberia joins 35 other air carriers offering more than 70 daily flights to 57 nonstop international destinations from the leading international airport in the National Capital Region.
