IAD offers the following five public parking products to provide the traveling passenger options in convenience, price, and service:

Terminal Parking: The closest, most convenient self-parking option located directly in front of the Airport Terminal. Ideal for pick up and drop off of passengers and also quick access for longer stays. This outdoor lot is uncovered with a covered walkway to the terminal.

•    Hourly Rate: $6 per hour
•    Daily Maximum: $22 per day (24-hour period)

Garage 1: Convenient parking offering shelter for passengers and their vehicles just a short 5 minute walk from the terminal. Closest garage option for passengers traveling domestically from the East side of the Airport Terminal (e.g. with United Airlines). Passengers can utilize an underground pedestrian walkway equipped with moving sidewalks, escalators, and elevators or take advantage of the 24/7 free Garage shuttle bus service.

•    Hourly Rate: $6 per hour
•    Daily Maximum: $17 per day (24-hour period)

Shuttle Service: The Garage shuttle makes three stops outside of Level 1 at Garage 1, two additional stops outside of Level 1 of Garage 2, and one stop at Curb 2F on the ground level in front of the Airport Terminal. The Garage shuttle arrives at the stops every 10-15 minutes and travel time between the Garages and the Airport Terminal is approximately 5-10 minutes. 

Garage 2

Convenient parking offering shelter for passengers and their vehicles just a short 5 minute walk from the Airport Terminal. Garage 2 is ideal for passengers looking for close access to Airlines and services on the West side of the Airport Terminal (i.e. international flights). Passengers can choose to walk via the covered walkway which connects the Departures/Ticketing Level of the Airport Terminal and Level 3 of Garage 2 or utilize the 24/7 free Garage shuttle bus service.

•    Hourly Rate: $6 per hour
•    Daily Maximum: $17 per day (24-hour period)

Shuttle service: The Garage shuttle makes three stops outside of Level 1 at Garage 1, two additional stops outside of Level 1 of Garage 2, and one stop at Curb 2F on the ground level in front of the Airport Terminal. The Garage shuttle arrives at the stops every 10-15 minutes and travel time between the Garages and the Airport Terminal is approximately 5-10 minutes.

Economy:

The lowest cost parking option with shuttle service arriving every 10-15 minutes and a travel time to/from the Airport Terminal of approximately 15 minutes. Economy Parking is an outdoor lot with covered bus shelters.

Valet Parking:

NOTE: DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, VALET PARKING IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. Please check our website for updates.

Premium service, with curbside drop off located at Zone 3 on the Departures Level in front of the Airport Terminal.  Valet combines fast, friendly service with direct entry to the Airport Terminal, saving you time and providing the ultimate convenience. Valet pick up is provided in the Terminal Parking Lot at the Valet Service Center.

  • Daily Rate: $35 per day (24-hour period)
  • No hourly rate

Where are the On-Airport Parking facilities located and how do I get there?

Go to Dulles Airport at 1 Saarinen Circle, Dulles VA 20166 and follow the parking signs. If you use Google maps, you will be able to choose specific parking options.

Do you have a Cell Phone Lot and where is it located?

Yes, the Cell Phone Lot is located at the corner of Rudder Road and Autopilot Drive.

What do I do if I have lost my ticket?

Enter a “Cash” lane and a cashier will provide assistance. When utilizing an automated exit lane, please push the “Help” button on the exit column and an attendant will provide assistance remotely.

I need a duplicate receipt for my parking, how do I get one?

Who do I contact if I am mischarged?

Please be prepared to provide a parking receipt or details of which parking lot/product was used, entry and exit dates, vehicle license plate number and any other supporting documentation you may have (such as flight itinerary, boarding passes, or online booking documentation).

What happens if I am towed?

What happens if I am issued a parking ticket?

If the Terminal Parking is full, how do I get to other parking options and how long does it take?

At the Terminal Lot exit, take ramp on immediate left and follow signs to Garage 1 or Garage 2 (approximately 2-3 minutes travel time).  To park in Economy, follow “Airport Return” signs after exiting the Terminal Lot, then follow signs to Economy Parking.

Where can I find disabled parking? Is it discounted?

Terminal Lot: at the end of Rows 2-30 closest to the Airport Terminal.

Garage 1: on Level 1 at Rows L and N closest to the Airport Terminal and Shuttle Stop 2.

Discounts are not provided for disabled parking.

Where can I find EV charging spaces for my electric vehicle?

Where is the best place to get off the shuttle bus to get to my gate?

There is only 1 stop at the Airport Terminal at Curb 3F on the ground level. Enter the Airport Terminal and go up the ramp and escalator/elevator to the Ticketing Level to access your gate.

How frequently do the shuttle buses operate between the parking facilities  and the Airport Terminal?

  • Garage 1: Every 10-15 minutes
  • Garage 2: Every 10-15 minutes
  • Economy: Every 10-15 minutes

What is the travel time on the shuttle bus from the parking  facilities to the Airport Terminal?

  • Garage 1: approximately 5-10 minutes
  • Garage 2: approximately 5 minutes
  • Economy: approximately 10-18 minutes

Are there any covered spaces within the Terminal Lot?

No, there are no covered spaces in the Terminal Lot. However, It is possible to access the underground pedestrian walkway between the Terminal Lot and the Airport Terminal using the 2 elevator banks located in Rows 20/21.

Are there any covered spaces within the Economy Lot?

No, there are no covered Economy parking spaces. However, there are covered bus shelters throughout the Economy Lot.

Can I park my motorcycle in any parking lot? How much does it cost?

There are no dedicated motorcycle parking areas.  Motorcycles may park in any marked parking space. The rate is the same as for any other vehicle.

Is there a place where I can store my bicycle?

No, there are no secure bike storage areas.

Where do I park my over-sized vehicle/camper/long vehicle? What are the height and length restrictions for the garage?

Height restriction is 8 feet 2 inches in Garages 1 and 2.

What forms of payment are accepted? 

Credit and Debit cards are accepted at any exit lane.  Cash is accepted at any available “Cash” exit lane or by pressing the “Help” button at an automated exit lane.   

Can I pay with my toll tag?

No, the airport parking facilities do not accommodate payment by toll tag.

Where can I park for a short stay to pick up and drop off passengers?

The most convenient parking option is the Terminal Lot at $6/hour (estimated walking time is 3-5 minutes) or either Garage 1 or 2, also at $6/hour (estimated walk time of 5-7 minutes).

 

 

 

 

I reserved online; do I have to go to the parking facility designated in my reservation? Do I have a specific reserved spot?

Yes, you must go to the product designated in your reservation. Your reservation is only valid in the parking product and facility that you have booked. You will not have a specific, reserved space, but you are guaranteed that a space will be available in the product where you booked.

What happens if I go to the wrong parking product or facility than what I reserved?

Your QR code will not be recognized at entry so the gate will not lift.

  • If you notice immediately that you are at the wrong parking product, and you are unable to back up, simply take a ticket and exit the lot within the ten minutes grace period free of charge, then proceed to the correct parking product, where you will use your reservation QR code for entry and exit.
  • If you do not have time to go to the correct product and must stay in the incorrect lot, please press the help button so a staff member can help you. They may be able to input your reservation remotely. If you choose to take a ticket or swipe your credit card for entry, you will be charged the drive up rates for your parking when you exit. You may then contact us for a refund of your drive up parking fee by calling 703-572-4500 or by visiting our "Contact Us" page.

I reserved online using a different credit card than what I will have when I get to the garage – can I do that?

Yes, you will need to show your QR code at entry and exit. Your credit card will only be required if you stay longer than your pre-paid reservation and, in that case, you will be charged at the drive-up rate for your overstay period and you can pay with the credit card of your choice.

When I reserve online, can I use a debit card, Paypal, Applepay or Androidpay?

No, currently this functionality is not supported. We accept all major credit cards – Visa, Mastercard American Express and Discover.

I entered a different license plate online than what is on the car I will now be driving to the airport. What happens?

Your main entry and exit credential is the QR code in your confirmation email. Your license plate is used to identify your entry and exit time only if you forget your QR code or have a problem with it.

For peace of mind, you can update your license plate number. If you have an account, go to the Manage Booking button and update the license plate number on your reservation. If you do not have an account, enter your reservation number and when the reservation appears, update your license plate number.

I need a receipt for my parking. How do I get one?

If you have an account, click here and log in and you will be able to print your reservation record. If you do not have an account, enter your email address and your reservation number to access your reservation details.

My trip was shorter than the period of time that I reserved online – do I get a refund?

No, there are no refunds for stays that are shorter than booked. Modifications and refunds are only permitted one hour in advance of the reservation entry time.

Can I enter before my reservation time?

You will be provided with a two-hour grace period around your reservation entry window. If you arrive more than two hours before your reservation, your stay will not be recognized and you will need to pull a ticket and pay the drive up rate. After your stay, please contact us for a refund of your unused reservation.

My trip was longer than I anticipated in my online reservation. How am I charged for the extra time?

You will be charged at the drive-up rate for the portion of your parking stay that exceeds the reservation exit time.

At exit, scan your QR code to apply your reservation payment. The gate will not lift if you have stayed longer than the exit time. The overstay amount will display and you will be asked to insert a credit card/other payment method to pay for any additional time parked.

What is the cancellation or refund policy for online reservations?

You may cancel your reservation and get a full refund any time up to oone hour before the entry time on your reservation. If you are within the  one hour window, you are not entitled to a refund.

If your flight has been canceled and not re-booked within your time frame, please contact us by calling 703-572-4500 or visiting our "Contact Us" page.  Please provide proof of cancellation and any flight re-booking information so that we may address your specific circumstances.

When I reserve online, will I be charged right away or when I exit the parking facility?

Your pre-paid reservation is charged at the time of booking and will be debited from your payment method when you reserve. This allows you to enter and exit the parking facility easily and quickly without having to spend time on payment.

Can I reserve disabled parking online?

No, disabled parking spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis and we are unable to guarantee their availability. Your reservation will guarantee access to the parking product you choose, but not a specific space.

Can I reserve Electric Vehicle (EV) charging spaces online?

No, EV charging parking spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis and we are unable to guarantee their availability. Your reservation will guarantee access to the parking product you choose, but not a specific space.

Is it possible to amend or cancel a reservation? Is there a fee?

Yes, you may modify or cancel a reservation up to one hour in advance of the reservation entry time without being charged a fee.

When you modify a reservation, your original reservation is canceled, and a new reservation is applied. Therefore, your payment method will show a cancellation and re-booking.

You cannot modify a reservation within the one hour period prior to your reservation or after you have entered the parking facility.

What do I need to bring with me when travelling to the parking facility?

You will need to bring your reservation QR code, whether it is on your phone or on a printed confirmation email. If you are using your phone, please ensure the phone is set on the brightest setting and hold within 2 inches of the scanner.  In the event that you modify a reservation you will be sent a new confirmation email including a new QR code. Please be sure to use this QR code to enter and exit the facility.

What happens if my QR code is not recognized at the entry or exit gate of my reserved parking facility?

Please do not take a ticket. Please press the “Help” button to call an attendant and they will locate and apply your booking.  If you pull a ticket, you will be charged for your parking stay at the drive-up rate and will need to pursue a refund by providing evidence of your reservation and parking stay (including your parking receipt and online reservation confirmation).

How do I know when my reservation has been accepted?

You will receive a confirmation email. If you believe you have made a reservation and have not received a confirmation email within two hours please contact us by calling 703-572-4500 or by visiting our "Contact Us" page.

The online reservation system won’t work for me, what do I do?

Can I use the same credit card for more than one reservation?

Yes, the same credit card can be used for multiple reservations. Your reservation credential is your QR code and you will not need to use your credit card at entry or exit unless you stay beyond your exit time. The QR code can be used only once for a single reservation.

Can I reserve parking in all Dulles International Airport parking facilities?

Yes, you may reserve in any open parking facility. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we may not be operating all our facilities. Please check our website for updates. Note that you will be unable to make a reservation in the system if the product is not open and available, so you do not need to worry about a reservation in a closed location.

How close to my date/time of travel can I reserve parking?

You may reserve from 12 months in advance up to 12 hours before your parking entry date and time.

What methods of payment can I use to reserve parking online?

We accept all major credit cards – Visa, Mastercard American Express and Discover.

Can I reserve hourly parking?

How do I reserve parking online?

Go to reserve.FlyDulles.com. Enter the date and time you wish to reserve. Press the Reserve Now button to see the parking options available to you. Choose your preferred option by clicking the Reserve Now button in the product description. You will be taken to a screen where you fill out your contact details, vehicle and payment information. You may also decide to create an account and to receive future discounts via email. Press Reserve and Pay and that’s it! You will receive your booking confirmation via email with the QR code you need to enter and exit your chosen parking product.

Do I need to create an account?

No, creating an account is not required, however, if you create an account you will be able to review your reservation history and print duplicate receipts. You will also have the option of saving your preferred payment method to make booking faster and easier.

How do I create an account?

You will be given the option to create an account while making your first reservation after inputting your contact and payment details. You may also go to the "Login" link in the upper right-hand side of the reservation landing page (where you put in your reservation time and date) and select the “Create Account” link to create an account without making a reservation.

What if I don’t receive a booking confirmation at the end of the reservation process or a booking confirmation email?

I have a question about the parking reservation charge on my statement. What should I do?

Which parking facilities can I reserve online?

You may reserve in any open parking facility. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we may not be operating all our facilities. Please check our website for updates. Note that you will be unable to make a reservation in the system if the product is not open and available, so you do not need to worry about a reservation in a closed location. Also, if the reservation availability of the product is sold out, you will not see it or be able to reserve it.

Can I reserve disabled parking online?

How do I know my reservation details are secure?

The Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority is compliant with all PCI-DSS and EMV standards.

Why don’t I see a particular parking product available online?

The product is either not available for the time frame you have booked (e.g. a weekend product will only be available for a Friday or Saturday entry) or the product is sold out for the time frame you entered.

What do I do if I made a mistake in my reservation?

You may modify or cancel a reservation up to one hour in advance of the reservation entry time with no penalty. Simply go to the landing page of the reservation website and click on “Manage Booking” in the bottom navigation bar. Then enter your reservation confirmation number (found in your confirmation email) and your email address and press Continue, then follow the instructions provided.

When you modify a reservation, your original reservation is canceled, and a new reservation is applied. Therefore, your payment method will show a cancellation and re-booking. In the event that you modify a reservation you will be sent a new confirmation email including a new QR code. Please be sure to use this QR code to enter and exit the facility.

How are online parking charges calculated?

Online parking charges are calculated on a per day (24 hour) rate and may vary based on the arrival date and/or duration of stay.

How do I get the best parking price online?

When you enter your reservation date and time, all available parking rates will be displayed.

If you have a promotion code, which may give you a discount, you may enter it in the first step of booking or at the last step prior to payment.  Please note that online pricing cannot be combined with any other promotions or coupons the airport may be offering.

Do I have to pay a reservation fee?

There is no additional fee to reserve in advance.

Do parking charges at Dulles International Airport include tax?

Yes.

Can I use the same credit card for more than one reservation?

How do I modify my reservation?

If you have an account:

Simply go to the reservation website and click on “Login” in the top right corner. Enter your email address and password and you will be able to view your reservations. Select the reservation that you would like to modify, then follow the instructions provided.

If you don’t have an account:

Simply go to the reservation website and click on “Manage Booking” in the top right corner. Then enter your reservation confirmation number (found in your confirmation email) and your email address and press Continue, then follow the instructions provided.

When you modify a reservation, your original reservation is canceled, and a new reservation is applied. Therefore, your payment method will show a cancellation and re-booking.

My trip has been extended, can I extend my parking reservation once I am already parked?

No, you cannot extend an online booking once you have entered the facility.

Your vehicle may remain parked in the facility, however you will be charged at the drive-up rate for the time you stay beyond your reservation exit date and time. You will need to pay for the additional time at exit.

 

 

What happens if I bring a different credit card from the card I used to make my reservation?

That is fine. Your QR code is your entry and exit credential. You do not need a credit card unless you overstay your pre-paid reservation period. Then you may use any credit card to pay for the overstay at drive up rates. You may also pay cash if there is a cashier lane available.

What happens if I drive a car with a different license plate than the plate number that I input on my reservation?

It will not prevent you from using your reservation as long as you have your confirmation QR code. Your license plate is used to identify your vehicle and reservation if you forget or have a problem with your QR code.

What happens if I forget my QR code/reservation reference number?

Please do not take a ticket. Please press the “Help” button to call an attendant and they will locate and apply your reservation. If you pull a ticket, you will be charged for your parking stay at the drive-up rate and will need to pursue a refund by providing evidence of your reservation and parking stay (including your parking receipt and online booking confirmation).

Are there any restrictions on the type of vehicle I bring to the Airport parking facilities?

You must ensure that your vehicle meets the height and length restrictions to fit into the parking facility.

Height restrictions:

  • Terminal Lot: 10 ft 6 inches
  • Garages: 8 ft 2 inches
  • Economy Parking: none

Length restrictions: All vehicles must fit within the length of one parking space unless other arrangements are made in advance with our parking office.

What happens if I arrive before the entry time I specified when making my online booking?

You will be provided with a 2-hour grace period around your booking window. If you arrive more than 2 hours before your booking, your stay will not be recognized and you will need to pull a ticket and pay the drive up rate. After your stay, please contact us for a refund of your drive up parking fee.

What happens if I arrive at the entry to my pre-booked parking facility and a sign says that it’s full?

The “full” sign does not apply to people with a reservation – you are guaranteed a space in the product you booked.

In the unlikely event you cannot find a space, please press the Help button on an entry or exit column for assistance. Once Valet parking reopens, we will valet park your vehicle for you for the same price as your existing booking.

What happens if my QR code doesn’t work at the entry or exit barrier of my reserved parking facility?

Please do not pull a ticket! Please press the Help button on the entry column and an attendant will enter your booking remotely.

What happens if after entering the parking facility I need to leave and re-enter the parking facility again?

You may not enter and exit multiple times on one reservation. Once you have entered the parking facility, your booking is considered activated and if you exit, the booking will be closed and no longer permit any further entry.

Is there shuttle bus service for the all Parking facilities to and from the terminals?

Yes, there is a free 24/7 shuttle service to and from Garage 1, Garage 2 and the Economy Parking facilities.

How often does the shuttle bus service come to the Parking facilities?

Garages: The Garage shuttle arrives at the stops every 10-15 minutes and travel time between the Garages and the Airport Terminal is approximately 5-10 minutes.

Economy: The Shuttle bus arrives every 10 – 15 minutes and takes approximately 10 minutes to get to the Terminal.

What happens if I lose my entry credential (QR code, credit card, ticket or phone) while I’m away?

Please press the "Help" button on the exit column and an attendant will input your reservation remotely so you can exit. If you do not have a reservation, at exit the attendant will attempt to look up your entry date and time using your license plate to charge you appropriately for your stay.

How do I know my car is secure while I’m away?

The parking lots are regularly patrolled by Airport staff and Police, however, the Airport is not responsible for the security of your vehicle or its contents while parked at the Airport. Please be sure to lock your vehicle and remove any valuables before you depart.

What happens if my car gets damaged while I’m away?

The Airport is not responsible for damage to your vehicle that is caused by others. If a police record is required for insurance purposes, please contact the MWAA police department directly by calling 703-417-2400.

What happens if my car won’t start when I return?

The Airport provides free 24/7 assistance for tire inflation, jump starts, and vehicle location. For assistance, please call 703-572-4500.
