Following the vote on Wednesday to restore federal funding, adverse effects on essential government services such as security screening and air traffic control are expected to subside in the coming days. Flight delays or cancellations are still possible.
The Federal Aviation Administration announced it is imposing flight reductions at busy airports around the United States. Airlines will reach out directly to affected customers regarding flight cancellations or rescheduling options.
Passenger guidance:
- Make sure that your contact information is correct and up to date with your airline.
- Double-check the status of your flight directly with your airline before coming to the airport. If your flight is canceled, contact your airline to rebook via their website or mobile app.
- Arrive inside the terminal at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.
- Use the free Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app for a faster experience through international arrivals.
- TSA's Lost and Found office at DCA is closed due to staffing. Please be extra mindful of your belongings in the security screening area. Submit claims on TSA.gov.
Updated guidance will be posted here as needed.
