Three public information workshops were held during the Master Plan process. The workshops were used to inform and educate the general public of the study process and major findings. Each workshop was conducted in accordance with COVID-19 pandemic guidelines applicable at the time of the workshop. As part of the airport’s master planning process, the Airports Authority invited technical advisers and regional stakeholders from the community to assist both the Airport Authority and its outside master planning consultant, Ricondo & Associates, Inc. These stakeholders brought an additional level of community and stakeholder involvement and their deep knowledge and skill sets, which augmented those of Airports Authority and consultant staff. On July 16, 2025, the Airports Authority Board of Directors approved Dulles’ Master Plan. This plan provides a long-term framework for the airport’s development and will keep Dulles in a strong position to accommodate the National Capital Region’s growing transportation needs.
